Barbadian Dressage Team Going for Gold in Regional Dressage Challenge

One of the most anticipated and exciting events on the Barbados Equestrian Association’s (BEA) dressage calendar takes place on June 29-30 with The Caribbean Equestrian Association’s (CEA) Regional Dressage Challenge taking place at Congo Road Equestrian Centre in St. Philip.

The Regional Dressage Challenge is an initiative to promote the Dressage Discipline in the region as a parallel, complementary, and supportive product to the FEI Dressage World Challenge, which Barbadian equestrians participate in.

This event showcases the talents of novice and experienced athletes and horses over the course of two days. Competition is set to begin at 8:00 AM on both days, with Roberta Foster, our 2023 Bronze Medallist at the CAC Games opening the challenge in the Intermediate I Division on two horses. Following their performance is the Fourth level to Training level tests. Not to be missed are the Freestyle entries performing their dressage test to music. The up-and-coming riders and horses will be also competing in the Mini Regional Dressage Challenge.

The BEA welcomes FEI 3* Judge Mr. Omar Zayrik of Mexico back to Barbados to oversee this prestigious event. Zarik will judge the competition throughout the region including the Bahamas, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. Heidi Hauri-Gill of the USA, instructor and international judge, who oversaw the last two warm-up competitions in Barbados, will be training our local team members for this prestigious competition in the hope of winning all of the five regional categories of this Championships for Barbados.
