Peg Farm and Nature Reserve hosted the 2021 version of the BAR 5K Trail Mix, sponsored by the Amarone Charitable Trust. This new venue boasted way more trail, hardly any traffic along the route and all the convenience afforded to the athletes by Peg’s established infrastructure.
‘Wait,’ you say, ‘weren’t we in the middle of COVID restrictions back then?’
Yes, we indeed were, but BAR was also the first event on the island to incorporate on site-pre event-rapid testing, to ensure the safety of all of our athletes and volunteers.
Carlie Robinson, Fynn Armstrong and Darren Matthews were our overall winners in the Ladies, Youth and Mens division respectively.
On September 24TH, 2022 at 3:30PM we will see if anyone can dethrone our reigning champions in the singles event. There are medals and cash prizes for the top three male and female athletes as well as age group prizes all the way from U20 to O55.
And then..it wouldn’t be BAR unless we included some sort of team event.
Perhaps inspired by all the track and field on TV, we introduce the 4x1.25K relay!!
AND you could win $1000.00 just for finishing!
That’s right, just get your four person team, comprised of at least two female athletes to the finish line and you will be entered into the random drawing for $1000.00.
Of course, there are cash prizes for the ‘real runners’ who will be trying to win the race; $1000.00 to the winning team and $500.00, $300.00 and $200.00 for the podium in the male and female divisions.
But, for just finishing the team relay, your team will be entered into a draw for a chance of winning $1000.00.
That’s the same cash prize as the first placed team!
