Great news for hockey enthusiasts as a new Astroturf surface is about to be re-laid at Wildey. The current water-based pitch has been out of action for several years as it was dangerous and the funds were not available to replace it. However, a new sand-based Astroturf pitch has been agreed in principle and plans are afoot that it will be ready for the Bank’s International Festival in August. The Barbados Hockey Federation also has plans for a complete revamp of the National Hockey Centre going forward.
