Rodin Carlin driver Zane Maloney grabbed precious silverware at the Silverstone Circuit today after he finished a speedy second in the feature race of the eighth round of racing in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 season.
Eventual winner Victor Martins was given a five second time penalty on the first lap, which he had the pace to make up, and eventually win by six seconds over Maloney, who started seventh on the grid. Théo Pourchaire completed the podium.
Maloney, 19, collected 18 points for second place, make it his first points won in the championship since placing third in the Monaco feature race on May 28. He has now re-entered the top 10 in the drivers’ standings, with 66 points for ninth place. (NM)
