Dynamite has the right Idea
The gruelling round the island yacht race on Errol Barrow Day was won by Dynamite Idea with the multi-hull Silver Bullet some 30 minutes in arrears. The race started and finished in Carlisle Bay just off the Barbados Cruising Club where the post-race social activities continued late in the evening. Many of the yachts finished in darkness and there was some reef and grief for Ralph Johnson’s Rapajam a few hundred metres from the finish line, but his energetic crew jumped and bumped to get it moving again albeit after a 360 degrees turnaround. That was sure to be one of the talking points in the clubhouse although it was a long wait for many of the other crews who were well behind the early finishers. Spectators all round the island watched the action from many onshore vantage points.
