Top ranking BaJan surfer on the World Surf League Qualifying Series mens tour Josh Burke placed an outstanding 9th at the just concluded QS 1000 Ron Jon Vans Pro in Cocoa Beach Florida last weekend.
Although a good result while earning 300pts and bumped his current rank up to 102 on the QS tour Burke was disappointed with the overall result " My Rich Price boards have been working amazing and throughout the event I was feeling great taking some heats wins then with a minute left in my round four heat I was leading the heat and got an interference call that I thought should have gone the other way or even a double interference , I finished 3rd here last year and was really hoping to take the title this year" Burke states.
Burke finished ranked 164 on his first full year in 2016 and 8th in the North American and is supported by BILLABONG apparel , REEF footwear as a global ambassador and also represents international brands NIXON , DAKINE , RPD surfboards, FUTURES Fins and trains in FLAWLESS PERFORMANCE CENTRE while home in Barbados.
Next event is the Martinique Surf Pro followed by the first ever QS event to be held at home the 3000 Barbados Surf Pro April 11-16.
