Over 70 Juniors are battling the waves at the Soupbowl Bathsheba in the international Spite Soup Bowl Junior Pro. Entrants have come from as far away as Italy for this prestigious competition. Running alongside is the McEnearney Quality Inc Indepence Pro. President of the Barbados Surfing Association Christopher Clarke is excited about the competition and the impact it's having on tourism in Barbados as most of the accommodation is full on the east side of the island because of it.
Head on down to Bathsheba this weekend to see 11 time World Surfing Champion Kelly Slater and local surfer girl Chelsea Tuach in action. It should prove to be a wonderful weekend of competition for this amazing sport.
