The Official Hackett British Army Polo team have been invited to take part in a polo tournament at Bellevue Polo Club Barbados and money raised will go towards the Hurricane Irma cause, The Consul general of the UK will be giving out the prizes on this truly special day.
Bellevue Polo Club and Plantation House is home to film producer and financier Paul Astrom Andrews and his partner Sarah Jane Gaselee, whose family has more royal connections than most. Sarah Jane Gaselee was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Lady Diana and Prince Charles; her father Nicholas Gaselee trained Prince Charles as a jump jockey during his courtship with Diana, and her brother Colonel James Gaselee commanded the travelling mounted escort for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, riding alongside the carriage through the streets of Windsor after the nuptials in his former role as commanding officer of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment. It was from Sarah Jane that the seeds of the idea of a polo tournament involving the British Army team arose, as she suggested to her brother he invite his colleagues to play.
The tournament will take place on February 13th followed by a dinner and dance and a garden party on February 16th.
Bellevue Plantation House is one of the oldest house on the island and plays host to many weddings and events in its sumptuous grounds.
The British army team are invited to bring wives, children and girlfriends along. Their most recent tour was to India where they played against the Indian Armed forces.
