News from the Barbados Boxing Association-Results of the Caribbean Development Boxing Tournament

The Barbados Boxing association just hosted the Caribbean Development Boxing tournament at sea Rocks Dome from 5th to 10th December 2016.
17 Caribbean countries participated in the event. The next CDBT will be in St. Lucia around the same time.
. Male MVP Jabali Breedy, Female MVP Kimberly Gittens both Gold medalist. Kimberly was voted best female elite - she won this title last year in Guyana as well.
The Caribbean development boxing tournament is now in it's 2nd year. Last year it was held in Guyana in November.
Barbados did very well earning 9 golds, 3 Silver & 1 Bronze from a team of 15 athletes.This year Barbados won 17 medals.
The tournament was created to ensure that Caribbean boxers have the necessary competition - which will prepare them for major games and also to allow our officials to sharpen their skills.
Most of the Major competition hosted by the international body are held in eastern part of the globe where airfares are $5000 and up hence the importance of this tournament.

1. Kimberly Gittens - captain of our women's team, your talent boxer which dreams of earning her living from the sport. She was voted best female boxer at last years tournament in Guyana.
